Suicide is not an option – Eucharia Anunobi

Nigerian veteran actress and producer, Eucharia Anunobi, has advised those going through depression not to consider suicide as an option.

The 53-year-old actress turned pastor came into stardom for her role in the movie series, Glamour Girls (1994) and went on to star in over 90 movies including Abuja Connection (2004) and Letters to a Stranger (2007).

Anunobi gave the advice by posting a solemn video on her official Instagram page.

She captioned it:

“I don’t know who you are and where you are now watching this video. PLEASE, SUICIDE IS NOT AN OPTION.

“I stand on the finished work of Jesus Christ and command the spirit of depression to lose its hold over you now.”

In 2017, Anunobi lost her only son, 15-year-old Raymond, to complications from sickle cell anemia.

The video had her recounting the loss of her son whom she described as her best friend on numerous occasions.

“I want to let you know that I also feel what you’re feeling; I want you to use me as a point of contact.

“I lost my only son and everyone practically deserted me. I haven’t given up; I want to tell you not to give up.

“All will be well, suicide is not an option it’s a sin against God,” the evangelist said.

Some other movies she had featured in include: Sacred Heart (2007), When you are mine (2007), Joy of a Mother (2006), Miss Nigeria (2004).

Former NNPC GMD, Maikanti Baru, is dead

The immediate past Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, Maikanti Baru, is dead.

Baru’s death was announced by the current GMD of the corporation, Mele Kyari, on Saturday morning.

The former NNPC boss was said to have died late last night.

In a tweet via his official Twitter handle, Kyari described his predecessor as a brother, friend and mentor.

He said,

“My brother, my friend and my mentor, Dr. Kachalla Baru, immediate past GMD of NNPC died late last night.

“He was of exemplary character and disposition. May Allah forgive him and have mercy upon him” Kyari twitted.

Lady teams up with her friends to smash boyfriend’s windscreen after he cheated on her (video)

A video making rounds on social media show the moment a lady teamed up with her friends to smash the windscreen of her lover.

According to the video, it could be heard that the guy cheated on the lady with some of her friends.

This caused the lady to invite some of her friends over to deal with him.

Air Peace evacuates 301 Chinese from Nigeria

Air Peace has evacuated 301 Chinese from the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Lagos to Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport, China’s most populous, commercial city.

Mr. Stanley Olisa, Spokesman of the airline, said in a statement on Friday that the evacuation which took place on Thursday was arranged by the Chinese government.

Olisa said that the flight took off about 10: 05 p.m. Nigerian time and arrived in China at about 1:15 p.m. Nigerian time on Friday.

He said that Air Peace was also the airline that evacuated Israelis in Nigeria late March and has been contacted by other countries for evacuation operations.

“Air Peace on Thursday, May 28, operated its second flight to China as we evacuated 301 Chinese nationals back to their country,” he said.

He added The flight departed the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, at exactly 10.05 p.m to Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport, China.

He said Air Peace deployed its Boeing 777 aircraft with the registration number 5N-BWI for the evacuation exercise.

The Regional Airport Manager, South West, Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Mrs. Victoria Shin-Aba, said the flight: P47807 pushed back from the Echo terminal of MMIA at 9:40 p.m. with 325 souls on board – 301 Chinese evacuees and 24 crew members.

She explained that all relevant government agencies such as FAAN, Nigeria Immigration Service, Port Health Services officials, and others were fully on the ground to ensure the success of the evacuation exercise.

“Air Peace is slated to carry out more evacuation operations for other nationals living in Nigeria, as the airline and other domestic operators gear up to resume scheduled flight operations soon.

“There are indications that commercial flight operations would resume early June, as the Nigerian Civil

Aviation Authority (NCAA) has started auditing airlines in preparation for scheduled passenger service,” she said.
