Supreme Court: APC Celebrates Victory In Imo As PDP Licks Wounds
It was jubilation galore on Tuesday among the All Progressives Congress political family in Imo state when the Supreme court struck out the appeal filed by Chief Emeka Ihedioha seeking a review of its January 14 ruling on the 2019 governorship election in the state.
This is even as the Peoples Democratic Party and her teeming supporters wore long faces and dismissed the action of the Apex Court as a travesty of justice.
Prince Lemy Akakem, Owerri zonal apex leader of the APC reacting to the ruling described it as a divine ruling, saying, “In God’s judgement, there is no appeal. I am grateful to God for the landmark action. Uzodinma is the people’s governor, and his emergency as a governor is the handwork of God”.
Godfrey Dikeocha, a former speaker of the state House of Assembly and chieftain of the APC said, “Supreme Court judgement is justice according to Law, not sentiment as anything contrary to the judgement would have amounted to an assault on the constitution and the law. As a lawyer, I commend the noble judges for a sound and legal judgement, it’s a victory for the rule of law, the integrity of the supreme has been upheld by this judgement.
A chieftain of the PDP who pleaded not to be quoted angrily told our correspondent “My friend, what do you want to hear from me?. They have done their wish and we have left everything for God”.
