A suspected kidnapper was, on Sunday, nabbed in Somolu area of Lagos while allegedly trying to abduct kids in the area.

It was gathered that the suspect, whose gender could not be ascertained by the residents, dressed as a woman with a hijab and was seen on Oladehinde street in Somolu walking around suspiciously.

A Twitter user Nzubechukwu Richard shared videos and details of the incidents.

Nzubechukwu said the suspect was seen in front of a church trying to lure some kids with sweets while service was ongoing before some young men in the area who had been watching the suspect’s suspicious moves accosted him/her.

He tweeted:

“So this funny dressed looking lady has been roaming the area for some hours now as suspected by the boys in the area. Not too long after she is found in front of on of the church in the area trying to be nice to children.

“The boys noticed she was trying to entice the kids with sweets. They became suspicious and approached her. She became afraid and starting acting weird. The boys picked up sticks to beat her up, but for some other who prevented that. In the end, it turned out “she as a man”.

“Disguised in a woman’s wear and intended to lure children away. She was rough handled a little and taken away to the police station. During this period, keep your children close to you at all times. People are bad out there.“

In the viral video, residents of the area were heard debating the gender of the suspect as they were not sure if the suspect was a male or female.
