Suspected ritualists kill septuagenarian in Ondo
A 70-year old woman, identified as Madam Sidikat Jimoh has been murdered at her residence at Ayetoro street in Ogbagi Akoko town in Akoko North-West Local Government Area of Ondo State on Monday.
It was gathered that the alleged killers had removed some part of the body of the deceased.
This raised suspicion that the incident was a ritual killing.
The source said, ” The residents of the area woke up this (Monday) morning and saw the lifeless body of the 70-year-old woman in her own pool of blood.
” Her assailants had removed many parts of her body. There is also an indication that the ritualists initially wanted to set the dead body ablaze. Some of the removed parts were forgotten by her assailants while they ran away.”
The source said the remains of the deceased had been deposited at the morgue of the Ondo State Specialist Hospital, Ikare Akoko.
When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer of the state command, CSP Femi Joseph confirmed the incident and said investigation into the matter had begun.
” Though we are yet to arrest any suspect but we have commenced investigation into it and we are already after the suspected killer,” the PPRO stated.
