Taxify rebrands as Bolt for fast, effortless movement

International transport network company, Taxify, has announced that it is rebranding to take on a new name, Bolt.

The ride-hailing company with a dedicated app for ordering rides operates in 30 countries and has its headquarters in Estonia.

The Nigeria branch of the multinational company took to Twitter on Thursday morning to break the news of its rebranding via its official handle (@boltapp_ng).

It said it rebranded in all the countries it presently operates to provide fast and effortless movement.

The company wrote:

“With our entry into Nigeria over 2 years ago, we had one goal – build the best way to move in all the cities we operate. We have grown in leaps and bounds over the years and are now aiming to solve transportation needs on a broader scale.

“Because of this, we are rebranding to take on a new name, one which encompasses our future. Our new name Bolt, stands for fast, effortless movement- exactly what you deserve.

Taxify started in Nigeria with its first operation launched in Lagos in November 2016. It further extended its operations to Abuja, Owerri in Imo state, Ibadan in Oyo state and recently in Benin, Edo state in December 2018.
