Teacher allegedly rapes four-year-old pupil in Ilorin

A primary school teacher who allegedly defiled a four-year-old pupil of a private school in Ilorin, Kwara State is being grilled by the police.

The suspect, identified as Korede Ahmed, was alleged to have committed the act in the toilet of the school located at Oyun area on Jebba road, Ilorin last Thursday.

He was said to have gone into hiding when he learnt that the mother of the girl had got wind of the act to evade Police arrest.

According to sources, the girl was said to have been in serious pain as a result of the act and complained to her mother when she got home.

The mother, the source said checked the private part of her daughter as a result of her daughter’s agony and discovered a clot of blood.

On Friday, the source said that the mother headed for the school and complained to the proprietor before she reported the case to the Police at ‘A’ division which deployed its men to arrest the suspect who had absconded from the school.

When the Police could not get the suspect, they arrested the proprietor of the school who later took them to the father of the suspect.

The father helped them to arrest him as he had gone into hiding and switched off his phone.

The Police source who spoke under condition of anonymity said,

“The suspect is a teacher of His Grace Group Of Schools, located behind onward fisheries, old Jebba road, Oyun, Ilorin, Kwara state capital.

“The suspect was alleged to have taken the 4 year old pupils to the school’s toilet removed her pant and inserted his fingers into her private parts.

“When the girl got home, she complained of pains in her private part, upon the mother’s prodding she narrated what her teacher did.

“The Father of the victim lodged a complaint at our office, Area command, A’division Ilorin this morning (Friday) and we swung into action.

“We were not able to trace the teacher when we arrived the school, so the proprietress, Mrs Toyin Adekanye was invited to our station and detained.

“The accused teacher sensed his secrets are already exposed, so he immediately ran away and turned off his phones. We arrested his father, who in turn called his aunt that stylishly tricked him to come and pick up something which enabled us arrest him this evening.” 

Police Public Relations Officer, Ajayi Okasanmi said that he was not aware of the incident.

“I have not heard about the incident but I will contact the DPO of the Police division concerned and get back to you.”
