Teenager killed for daring to leave one cult group for another
The Police in Delta have confirmed the death of a teenager, one Tonwei, who wanted to switch cult groups.
WuzupNigeria gathered that the incident happened at Okwagbe street, Essi-layout, Warri South local government.
The Police Public Relations Officer PPRO Onome Onovwakpoyeya said the boy was killed by persons suspected to be cultists.
The deceased teenager was attacked by a gang numbering about seven on Tuesday, March 10, 2020.
Residents of the area claimed that he was hacked to death with axes, but police say he was shot.
Multiple sources said, “the incident occurred at about 7pm on Tuesday evening.
Residents of the area alleged that Tonwei was killed because he left a cult group to join another.
When contacted for comments, the State Police Public Relations Officer PPRO Onome Onovwakpoyeya confirmed the incident.
He said,
“It’s true, the boy was shot dead by unknown gunmen suspected to be cultists”.
