Tekno disqualified from ‘Next rated’ category of Headies
The competition for the Next rated artiste of the year category has become one contestant less competitive as Triple MG singer, Augustine “Tekno” Miles Kelechi has been disqualified from the category of 2016 Headies awards.
The contest is now among Ycee, Aramide, Humblesmith and Mr. Eazi.
The disqualification follows Tekno’s refusal to meet the organisers requirements of making himself available for promotional activities that required his presence including photoshoots.
That was the only award the 24-year-old was nominated for.
The Bauchi State born artiste had complained over his nomination as a next rated singer when he mocked the organisers in an Instagram post he later deleted.
“‘Next Rated after how many years? Let’s be honest please,” he had posted on Instagram.
The event is billed for Thursday, December 22, 2016.
