Tension: Judiciary at war with Executive, Nigerians react to Justice Ademola’s case
There is a cold war between the Nigerian Judiciary and the Executive arm of government, says experts looking into the state of affairs within the nation. The recent arrest of judges is a testament to the war some experts argue, and this development has got Nigerians talking.
In the early hours of Tuesday, news filtered in that Justice Adeniyi Ademola had washed his hands off the case of Sambo Dasuki former national security adviser (NSA).
Justice Ademola said his reason from withdrawing from the case, is related to the fact that it is the trial of Dasuki that warranted his arrest by the Department of State Services (DSS).
Reactions have followed the judge’s withdrawal from one of the biggest court case in Nigerian history, and below are what Nigerians have to say.
Akin Malaolu said: “I won’t get carried away by Justice Ademola’s drama in Court.
What is important has been done with DESPATCH and Nigerians and Nigeria are now sure that the directions which JUSTICES faced before had been ALTERED for the general good.
Nigeria would be better off now without CORRUPT JUDGES”
Echeke in reply to Akin Malaolu said: “And now that justice have excused himself from the case and since you are certain we have but corrupt judges and justices, I think it is high time you or Buhari or Malami assumed the posts of judges and justices, so that you can be prosecutors and judges in your case.”
Maymat said: “Good, retire him very quickly and try him for all the allegations of corruption against him… shikena!”
Bola Jude was of the opinion that “God has abandon Nigeria because of this present govt. The level of deceits is alarming. When you use lies, deceits and vindictive mindset to pursue an acclaimed just course, you will end up in fruitlessness and disaster.”
There were also reactions from some prominent Nigerians over the issue, one of such is Senator Ben Murray Bruce who took to his twitter handle as to air his view on the issue.
If the allegation by Justice Ademola that he was forced to sign a confession at gun point is true then I fear for Nigeria. Could it be true?
