Terrence Howard honoured with a star on Hollywood Walk of Fame

American actor and record producer, Terrence Howard got honoured with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

The Oscar-nominated actor was joined by his wife Mira Pak and children, Hero Howard and Qirin Howard at the iconic ceremony which took place on Tuesday, September 24, in Los Angeles.

The 50-year-old “Empire star” looked exhilarated in a cream checkered vest, with floral patterned lapels and cuffs over a white button-up and matched the floral on his top with floral brown loafers alongside grey trouser.

His latest feat coincides with the season premiere of his Fox hip-hop drama “Empire,” NBC Los Angeles reports.

The star is next to the star of his “Empire” co-star Taraji P. Henson. It is the 2,674th since the completion of the Walk of Fame in 1961 with the first 1,558 stars.

In his acceptance speech, Howard said; “A few years ago I was taken down by Hollywood and was told I would never work again,” Howard said. “But then, a young woman named Dana Walden had faith in me and allowed me to head her show.”

“Because my name is written in stone in Hollywood, as long as there’s a Hollywood Boulevard, Terrence Howard will still stand,” he said.

In September 2019, Howard announced that he had retired from acting as he was “tired of pretending.”

Howard received a best actor Oscar nomination in 2006 as a Memphis pimp and drug dealer turned aspiring rapper in “Hustle & Flow.” Howard and Henson performed the movie’s theme, “It’s Hard out Here for a Pimp,” which won the Oscar for best original song.

Howard has had prominent roles in many other movies, including Winnie, Ray, Lackawanna Blues, Crash, Four Brothers, Big Momma’s House, Get Rich or Die Tryin’, Idlewild, August Rush, The Brave One, and Prisoners.

Howard played James Rhodes in Iron Man and its video game adaptation, but he was replaced by Don Cheadle for the future films.

He stars as the lead character Lucious Lyon in the television series Empire.

Howard lives outside Philadelphia in Lafayette Hill, Pennsylvania. He has been married four times to three women and has five children and two grandchildren.
