Policeman shouted ‘I must kill somebody today’ before killing my son – Kolade Johnson’s Dad [Video]
The father of Kolade Johnson has said the policeman who fired the shot that killed his son had screamed that he was going to kill someone at the scene of the incident before firing the shot.
WuzupNaija reports that Johnson was shot dead in his Mangoro neighbourhood when a patrol vehicle of police anti-cultism unit pulled over to arrest someone in the area.
His father, Alhaji Remi Lukman in an interview with Punch said he wants the police officers responsible for his son’s death fished out, brought to justice and given due punishment in order to serve as a deterrent to others from committing such act.
He said:
“These are young people we look onto as the future of this nation if you just decide wilfully after making a statement that you are going to kill somebody here today and you actually killed somebody, that was the statement uttered by the man who fired the shot and thereafter he shot into the air and two stray bullets hit my son.
The deceased’s father also called for a reform of the police force.
“We need a more organised police force that will put the interest of its citizens at heart, that will dutifully carry out their job, without wrongfully putting anybody at victims,” he added.
