THIS IS FITTING! Satan says as actor Christian Bale thanks him in Golden Globes speech

Vice actor, Christian Bale, on Monday thanked Satan for giving him the inspiration for playing the Dick Cheney character in the movie after he grabbed the best actor in a comedy or musical at the 2019 Golden Globe Awards.

Christian Bale thanked his co-stars, crew and family, before name-dropping the more unlikely inspiration, a move many commenters see as a snub of former Vice President Dick Cheney.

“Thank you to Satan for giving me inspiration on how to play this role,” he said.

The 44-year-old actor also thanked “Vice” writer and director Adam McKay with a self-deprecating bit about his casting in the role.

“(McKay had) to find somebody who can be absolutely charisma-free and reviled by everybody,” Bale joked.

“And he went, ‘Ah, it’s got to be Bale in it. Thank you, and for all the competition, I will be cornering the market on charisma-free (expletive). What do you think, Mitch McConnell next? That would be good.”

The Church of Satan responded to a video of the actor’s speech, by writing on Twitter,

“To us, Satan is a symbol of pride, liberty and individualism, and it serves as an external metaphorical projection of our highest personal potential. As Mr. Bale’s own talent and skill won him the award, this is fitting. Hail Christian! Hail Satan!”
