Three more victims die after jilted lover sets their family house ablaze
The last three members of a family that were set ablaze by a jilted lover, Deji Adenuga, at Igbodigo town in Okitipupa Local Government Area of Ondo State, has reportedly died.
Initially, five members of the family reportedly died in the incident but after a few hours three remaining members gave up the ghost at the hospital.
According to the Punch, the deceased are Glory Alade, Mercy Alade, Joy Alade, Adebayo Alade, Aladesewa Alade, Johnson Alade and Ayorinde Alade.
Confirming the development, the Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Femi Joseph said the three people died as a result of the injury sustained in the fire.
” I can confirm to you that three more people have died, it only remains the girl (Titi) in the family that is surviving. For the suspect, we are still on his trail and we will soon get him.” Joseph vowed.
The PPRO further started that Titi had been admitted at an undisclosed hospital, saying ” she is still in a traumatic state.”
Adenuga, on Tuesday morning allegedly set the eight members of his estranged lover’s family ablaze in a one-room apartment at Adetuwo Street in the town.
He was said to have carried out the dastardly act while the family was sleeping at about 2.am on the fateful day.
It was gathered that Adenuga was dating a girl in the family, known as Titi Sanumi but later the girl called off the relationship and in retaliation, the suspect set her family ablaze.
