THREE ROUNDS OF SEX! 28-year-old bus driver rapes girl, 10, gives her N100 to buy biscuit
An Ikeja Magistrates’ Court on Monday remanded a 28-year-old bus driver, Olayemi Oyewunmi, to Kirikiri prison for allegedly defiling a 10-year-old girl.
The Magistrate, Mrs B.O. Osunsanmi, refused to take the plea of the accused and said that the defendant should remain behind bars pending advice from the state’s Director of Public Prosecutions.
Oyewunmi, who resides at Magodo Road, Isheri, Lagos, is being tried for defilement.
The Prosecutor, ASP Ezekiel Ayorinde, alleged that the accused committed the offence on May 11 at his residence.
Ayorinde told the court that the accused unlawfully had sexual intercourse with the girl while she was on an errand for her mother.
He said that the girl was assaulted sexually by the accused when her mother sent her to buy bathing soap.
He said,
“When the girl got to where she was to buy the soap, the accused told her that the soap she wanted to buy was upstairs.
“He asked the victim to follow him upstairs to get the soap.
“The girl followed him, but when they got upstairs, the accused covered the mouth of the victim and had sex with her.
“After three rounds of sex, he gave her N100 to buy biscuit and begged her not to tell anybody.
“But, when the girl got home, she narrated her ordeal to her mother.’’
The prosecutor said that the victim’s mother reported the case to the police.
He told the court that the offence contravened Section 137 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015 (Revised).
NAN reports that Section 137 prescribes life imprisonment for defilement.
The case was adjourned until July 2.
