To avoid being killed by SARS talk to them in Pidgin – Yomi Shogunle
The Head of Police Complaint Response Unit, ACP Yomi Shogunle has advised Nigerians that another way to avoid getting into “kasala” with the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) is to speak pidgin and not Queen’s English to police officers.
Shogunle said this in a tweet on Wednesday when he quoted a video by RRS Commander Tunji Disu where he was addressing members of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) in Lagos.
He wrote,
“For now, don’t go and be speaking Queen’s English with them on the road. For proper understanding talk to them in Pidgin, another way to avoid kasala.”
The RRS commander Disu had advised officers of the Nigeria Police Force in Lagos on the need to be good ambassadors of the force.
Disu said that he is concerned about the issue of police killings that have been going on in the country. He said the matter is so worse that he believes his officers should be ashamed of even putting their uniform to go around town.
He also noted that the officers should be careful about the firearms they carry around, that the same arms were purchased for them with the money gotten from the public.
Disu then asked why they kill the people who are paying them and whose money financed their arms.
The RSS commander reminded the officers of a very important lesson they were taught in the police academy, that it is better to let robbers escape than kill one innocent person.

Nice one ?.
Lagos State will be calm if police chiefs in #Lagos do more of this.
