Truck drivers block Abuja-Lokoja expressway over killing of colleague by task force
There was a total lockdown on the Abuja -Lokoja expressway on Wednesday, one day after a person identified as a task force official allegedly killed a tanker driver with a plank.
Sharing the story on Facebook, ỌlaYinka Samuel quoted eyewitnesses as saying tanker drivers blocked the road in protest against the incident which happened on Tuesday.
Samuel wrote, “Lokoja-Abuja road is completely blocked. Eyewitness account said state produce tax force killed a trailer driver with plank around 12 am last night, the trailer drivers then blocked the road, insisting the governor must come to the scene. You are advised not to travel on that road at least for now.”
He also shared photos from the gridlock that followed.
However, one of those who commented on the post about three hours after it was published said the road had been cleared.
