TWITTER BOARD OF DIRECTORS! Goodluck Jonathan, Atiku Abubakar, others congratulate Okonjo-Iweala over appointment
Former president Goodluck Jonathan and former VP Atiku Abubakar, have congratulated Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, on her appointment into the board of Twitter.
Jonathan said his former minister merits the appointment adding that he is proud of her.
In a Facebook post, the former president said Okonjo-Iweala managed the finances of Nigeria prudently and was instrumental to pulling millions out of poverty.
He wrote:
“I am not surprised that Dr. Mrs. Ngozi Okonjo Iweala has been appointed into the board of Twitter.
“If anyone merits such an appointment, it is definitely a woman who helped her nation manage its finances most prudently and was instrumental to pulling many millions out of poverty.
“Ngozi, I am proud of you. You served Nigeria most meritoriously and I am more than certain that you would do the same at Twitter. Congratulations.”

Also reacting to the news of Okonjo-Iweala’s appointment, former vice president, Atiku Abubakar, said he is delighted.
Atiku via his twitter page said she is a national treasure and her exploits on the world finance and business stage is proof that when you empower a woman, you empower a community, a nation and a continent.
Okonjo-Iweala who served under Jonathan’s administration was announced as one of the independent directors on Twitter’s board on Thursday.
She will be replacing Marjorie Scardino, the former Chief Executive of Pearson.
