Twitter feminists drag Teni over tweet on marriage proposal
Nigerian singer Teni sparked mixed reactions on Twitter on Saturday following her tweet on feminism and marriage proposals.
Teni took to her Twitter page on Saturday morning asking if there is any woman or man planning to propose this weekend as she is willing to perform at the proposal event for free.
She tweeted:
“Please who wants to propose to his or her bae? Enter my DM! Free performance from me.”
She continued;
“Btw it’s not wrong for a woman to propose to her man!
“Y’all are feminists till it’s time to bend on one knee to ask a man to marry you! Aren’t we equal?”
That was the tweet that set the Nigeria Twitter community on fire.
As the tweet started generating criticisms, Teni wrote in response to a tweet from a fan:
“It’s about women supporting women! Period.”
Some feminists who do not support her view have camped in the comment of her tweet to hurl insults at her.
However, some of her fans are also defending her opinion.
Well, Teni is presently trending at the number one spot on Twitter Nigeria and it looks like the dragging is not going to end soon.

I love you yeah but You need to read more on feminism, Feminist and feminine. You need to comprehend the whole ideology. Don’t based your understanding on twitter alone. The internet is friendly Teni. And Google is always active. Go girl.

She say cancelled loooool. You are a definition of a real ?. Since you are her God, and she has every right to tweet whatever she likes.

Ladies always expect a YES when they ask or when they shoot their shot but reality is not so, there is always d tendency to be rejected and you all need to know that and be able to live with it, if that is known, there won’t be an issue with shooting ur shot.

No context in which this makes sense. I will have to believe you are having a melt down & lost yo damn mind for the minute it took to tweet this!

@TeniEntertainer @Teni I know you know that Feminism isn’t a show of hierarchy or about gender. It’s beyond gender. Men can be feminists just like women. I know you already know. Perhaps, there is a reason for this tweet. Love and Light❣

No Teni, we are not equal, Men are better, greater and even more human than women.? I mean you shouldn’t even be in the same industry with them , you’re not worthy dear.

Teni stated her view on feminism , rather than have a constructive discuss , self glorified e-feminists are dissing her music & weight … defeating the true fight for equality . Goes a long way to show you don’t understand the rudiments of feminism, she has a right to a voice .

Teni asked a valid question on the issue of equality and instead of giving an answer or at least an intelligent response, “feminists” decided to bash her, her music and body shame her.
Tomorrow they’ll tweet about “girl power”
Ignorant, delusional lots.

I understand if you’re pissed at Teni(I actually don’t) but how can you say Teni can’t sing ??.
All of a sudden, her songs are trash?— Bobo (@DejiOmoBalogun) February 1, 2020
They have started with her music, they will soon enter her weight.
Teni will be dragged non-stop for 24 hours, only Football Twitter can save her & even that is not enough.
How could she “do such a mistake”

The same Feminist that tore one guy apart on the TL because he said Teni should lose some weight, are the same people calling her overweight ??
