Twitter trends: FG under fire for claiming over N30bn Abacha loot was disbursed to poor, vulnerable Nigerians
Nigeria’s former military dictator, Sanni Abacha, who looted the country and stored up treasures in various foreign banks at the detriment of his own country has recently had some of the monies sent back to his home country.
The Buhari led government has disclosed it shared the funds recovered from monies looted by the former military dictator to poor and vulnerable Nigerians.
However, Nigerians have taken to microblogging platform, Twitter, to air their opinions on the ‘sharing formular’ the Federal Government put to use.
Some have asked if poor people have an association, they even asked who received the said money on their behalf.
One Twitter user makes an attempt to correct the headlines. His post reads:
”Let me correct the headlines. FG (re-loots $103.64m Abacha loot, as citizens continue to struggle on $2/day.”
Another user says:
“FG disburses $103.64m Abacha loot to the poor” Really? Do poor people now have an association? Who received the money on behalf of this poor people? Who counted this poor people? I am sorry, Buhari is not Okay.”

Do you know the Nigerian Government is deceiving the World that millions of Abacha’s loot recovered has been shared to the poor?
since 2015, they can’t even keep to their Campaign promise of N5,000 monthly pay to unemployed graduates. https://t.co/VKZCPwHO8x— Omezuo 1 (@Okafor_Mang) October 22, 2019

The $103.64m Abacha loot is approximately N37b and FG claimed it disburses the money to poor Nigerians. If they are stupid enough to think Nigerians will believe this nonsense then they don’t rate us at all.
Note: Nigeria is the poverty capital of the world.
