You must have heard about Octopus Paul, the animal which gained global fame in 2010 for its accurate prediction of World Cup matches. Many were wowed by the accuracy of its predictions that they dubbed it an animal oracle.

Since the demise of Paul the Octopus in October 2010 after the World Cup in South Africa, the world has not had the opportunity of another globally recognised football matches predictor, well, we may not need to sweat further about that as we seem to have another oracle in Nigeria for accurate predictions of continental football matches

The man identified as Emmy Berekz has so far predicted eight matches from the quarter-finals stage of the ongoing African Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Egypt.

He took to Twitter via his handle @E_berekz on Tuesday 9th July 2019, a day before the quarter-final matches and predicted all the four quarter-finals, two semi-finals, third place and final matches in a single tweet.

He tweeted:

Seven of his predictions have been accurate and the only one left of the eight predictions is the final match between Algeria and Senegal which comes up later on Friday.

His a-week-old tweet went viral after Nigeria defeated Tunisia to win bronze last night, a match he had also predicted over a week before the match when Nigeria were not even certain whether they would be locking horns with the north Africa nation for a third-place in the competition.

The viral tweet has so far garnered over a thousand retweet and over a thousand likes.

Social media users have camped in the comment section of the tweet hailing Emmy’s predicting skills as they anticipate the fulfillment of the last among his prediction which is about the winner of the AFCON 2019.

He has predicted that Algeria will beat Senegal to clinch the continental trophy on Friday and social media users seem to be in a hurry to see the outcome of the match.
