Two teenagers drown in Lagos beach amidst covid-19 lockdown
Tragedy as two teenagers have drowned while swimming at a community beach in Ibeju-Lekki area of Lagos State.
The sad development occurred on Saturday, in a beach at the Epelemeje Orofun community, Ibeju-Lekki area of Lagos. The names of the deceased were given simply as Dare, 16 and Fawas, 15.
The spokesman of the Lagos State Police Command, DSP Bala Elkana, who disclosed this in a statement on Sunday, said some members of the community reported the matter at the Ibeju-Lekki Divisional Police Station on Saturday.

Bala Elkana, yesterday said the police received a distress call that Dare and Fawas, both residents of Epelemeje Orofun community, Akodo in Ibeju-lekki, allegedly got drowned while playing in the community beach.
“The command has deployed its Marine Police Team to the area on search and rescue operation. The command advised parents to monitor their children and ensure that they remain at home during this lockdown period,” he said.
