U-20 WOMEN’S WORLD CUP! Nigeria lose 1-2 to Spain, crash out

Nigeria on Thursday crashed out of the ongoing 2018 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup after losing 1-2 to Spain in the quarterfinal.

The Falconets progressed to the quarterfinal after a draw, loss and win in their three group stage games while Spain finished comfortably of their group after two wins and a draw.

The Nigerians conceded a penalty in the 12th minute and Spain’s Aitana Bonmatí Conca stepped up to play the spot kick, giving the Europeans the lead.

Spain scored their second goal of the game just before the referee blew the whistle for the halftime break through Patri Guijarro.
