A 14-year-old girl has narrated how her mother made life miserable for her after she told her that her father was sexually assaulting her.

The girl said that it was very painful because instead of taking action her mother warned her not to tell anyone that her father assaults her.

Speaking with the Gender Unit of the Police Command where detectives handling the case of rape against her 58-year-old father, Johnson Okon, the 14-year-old narrated all that transpired between her and her parents.

The teenager said she had to run from home when she couldn’t stand the pain anymore, the Nation reports.

The 14-year-old said;

“I never believed in my wildest imagination that my mother will not believe me. I

“It was very painful that I told my mum what my father did to me when she was away but instead of taking action, she warned me that I should not tell anyone.

“I ran from home when I couldn’t stand the pain anymore.”

Edgal said it was painful that the girl’s parents both failed to protect her and she had to run to her father’s friend’s home for refuge.

“This case is still being investigated. The survivor has been referred to Mirabel Centre for medical examination,” the Commissioner said.
