Unbelievable: Professor Wole Soyinka wants to tear his Green Card, here is why

Nobel laureate, Professor Wole Soyinka may soon tear his green card if reports from the United States of America are anything to go buy.

Professor Soyinka, who reportedly resides in the US permanently told students of the Oxford University that he would tear his green card if Donald Trump wins the fast approaching presidential election in the country and becomes the next American president.

He said: “If in the unlikely event he does win, the first thing he’ll do is to say [that] all green-card holders must reapply to come back into the US. Well, I’m not waiting for that.”

Speaking further, the scholar-in-residence at New York University’s Institute of African American Affairs this autumn, noted that “The moment they announce his victory, I will cut my green card myself and start packing up.”

The statement made by the respected literary icon indicates that he has a huge support for the Democrat, Hillary Clinton, who is hoping to emerge as the first female president of the United States.

And although he has not publicly mentioned it, it is apparent that Wole Soyinka favours the emergence of a first female occupier of the prestigious White House.
