UNIMAID NURSING STUDENT TRAGEDY! Gov Shettima’s delegates storm hospital to see victim [Photos]

Governor Kashim Shettima on Tuesday sent his Deputy, Usman Mamman Durkwa and other delegates to visit Fatima Habu Usman at the hospital.

Usman who is a 24-year old final year nursing student of the University of Maiduguri College of Medicine was abducted, raped and bathed with chemical suspected to be acid by two robbers on Friday, March 16.

Governor Shettima who was absent during the movement reportedly directed his deputy and other delegates to visit the victim at the hospital because he was currently in Abuja on an official assignment.

The deputy governor during the visit sympathised with Usman and promised that the state government will pay her medical bills. He gave the victim an undisclosed amount of money and assured her that her condition is closely monitored by the state government.

He promised that the state’s government is on top of the situation and would do all its best to make sure that she recovers fully.

Those among the deputy governor’s entourage during the visit include; the Commissioner for Poverty Alleviation and Youth Empowerment, Hajiya Inna Galadima, the representative of the Police Commissioner as well as the state’s Chairman of the National Commercial Tricycle and Motorcycles Owners and Riders Association, Kaigama Mohammed.

It was reported on on Friday, March 16 that a female student of UNIMIAD was abducted from a tricycle while heading home from school. She was robbed, raped and bathed with chemical suspected to be acid before she was dumped on the roadside by her assailants.
