Valentine’s Day at election period a divine arrangement, says Miss Valentine Africa’s facilitator

The celebration of Saint Valentine’s Day two days to the conduct of the 2019 general elections is a divine arrangement that love will continue to exist among Nigerians.

Dickson Buffalo, who is Miss Valentine Africa’s facilitator, said that Nigerians would be privileged and be guided by the spirit of love to choose their rightful leaders at the polls on Feb.16 and March 2.

The Presidential and National Assembly elections will hold on Feb.16 while the governorship and state assembly elections will hold on March 2.

Buffalo said that Nigerians should extend the Valentine’s Day’s spirit to the coming elections by having a violence-free exercise.

“Having the celebration of Valentine’s Day occurring close to the election period in Nigeria is a divine arrangement that will favour the citizens.

“Our expectation is to have a peaceful election in Nigeria, and make it a period of love and kindness.

“I appeal to everyone to abide by the rules of the game by avoiding those things that can separate us. We must hold on to love that will unite us which is the message of the Valentine’s  season ,’’ he said.

He said that the Miss Valentine Africa Contest 2019 which would hold a day after the presidential and national assembly elections across the country had been divinely ordained.

Buffalo,  the Chairman, Board of Trustees, MJV AFRICA FOUNDATION, organisers of Valentine beauty contest urged youths to be calm during the elections and radiate the love of the season.

“As Saint Valentine showed good example of love and care for his neighbours, Nigeria and the entire world must emulate such gesture.

“They must extend love and care to one another, especially, during the general elections,’’ he told NAN.

He said that the public should also show care to the less privileged and the needy during the season.

The Valentine beauty contest, which is in its third edition, would benefit the youth and young people in talent discovery.

“Miss Valentine Africa Contest, which was first held in 2014,  in 2018 and is coming up in 2019, is engaging youths in  talent discovery.

“Our effort at piloting the youth toward the right direction will benefit their families and the entire nation as we are projecting them as ambassadors of love,’’ he said.
