Vector gives damning verdict about Nigeria, says nation not ‘Giant of Africa’

Vector Giant of Africa

Nigerian rapper, Olanrewaju Ogunmefun, popularly known as Vector Tha Viper has dismissed the popular saying that Nigeria is the ‘Giant of Africa’.

The saying which dates back to several decades has been criticised at different times by many Nigerians and non-Nigerians who always argue that the nation lacks the qualities of a giant.

Nigeria probably earned the appellation due to its large size and population of about 200 million people making it the most populous country in Africa, most populous black nation and the seventh most populous nation in the world.

While other nations on the list of most populous countries are utilizing their population strength to make valuable impact, the same cannot be said about Nigeria.

Vector is not the only Nigerian who is worried about the accuracy of the phrase ‘Giant of Africa’ and he has expressed his concern over the appellation.

Instead, he said Nigerians deserve to be called the true Giants of Africa for their daring all odds to put the name of the nation on the global stage.

The rapper took to his Twitter page and dropped the damning verdict.

He tweeted:

“Nigeria is NOT the giant of Africa… Nigerians are.”

Some of his fans and other netizens have camped in the comment section of the tweet to post their approval of his comment.
