Vets perform surgery on pet cockroach suffering from pregnancy complications (Video)
Besides being unsightly, Cockroaches are a huge menace and the last thing on anyone’s mind is keeping them as pets, let alone helping them deliver babies but things are a little different in Russia.
A man actually landed up at the veterinarians after his pet cockroach was having some difficulty while giving birth.
You’d think, how on earth can doctors help such a tiny little creature with pregnancy complications? Well, the vets at this Russian hospital actually did it with ease.
A veterinary clinic in Krasnoyarsk, Siberia called Limpopo said a client brought in their pet cockroach on Dec. 21 when they realised something was wrong.
Due to complications, the roach required surgery and even had a part removed to birth its babies, according to the post.
The Archimandrite cockroach, which originates in South America, was at dangerous risk of infection.
A video showing the cockroach was shared by RT on Twitter.
The video has gone viral, garnering over 50,000 views. While most of the internet was surprised, some supported it.
The vets performed an urgent nano-surgery to save the life of the insect. They used three painkillers- an internal drug, local anaesthesia and has anaesthesia.
The vets removed the egg pouch from the cocoon successfully. This allowed the tiny patient to properly retract its cocoon. “We wish the best of health to the beauty,” the vet clinic wrote after the surgery.
