VIDEO! CCTV footage of Offa bank robbery surfaces online
A CCTV footage of the reported bank robbery that happened at Offa town in Kwara State has gone viral on the internet.
Fifteen people were reportedly killed when a gang of armed men attacked two banks and a police station in the town.
The state’s police spokesman, Ajayi Okasanmi, said nine police officers and six civilians died in the brazen assault.
The gang invaded a busy commercial area where several banks and the police station are located at around 4:50 pm (1550 GMT).
In a swift reaction to the incident, Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed offered N5 million for information that will lead to the arrest of the perpetrators.
The governor said anyone with useful information should contact the state police command on the following numbers – 0803 739 1280 and 0803 236 5122.
The Police also reported that some suspects linked to the robbery attack are already in their custody.
