Violence in Benin after police officers killed commercial driver over N100 bribe [Graphic Photos]
Violence broke out on Tuesday in Benin, Edo State over the death of a young man at the hands of policemen in the state.
According to various eyewitnesses accounts on social media, the deceased, who was a commercial bus driver, was pushed to his death after he allegedly refused to part with N100 bribe.
Posters on social media further claimed the deceased was set to marry on Saturday.
The incident reportedly happened along MM Way, Benin City.
Angry residents and eyewitnesses subsequently set police patrol vans on fire after giving some of the officers a beating.
An eyewitness on Facebook claimed the angry youths killed one police officer and set police vans ablaze over the death.
