#WakandaForever! US County declares April 10 Sope Aluko Day [Photos/Video]
Nigerian-American actress, Sope Aluko, is expressing overwhelming happiness as she has been honoured with her very own day, April 10, by the Miami-Dade County in Florida, United States.
Following her Black Panther role as the shaman — a Wakandan spiritual leader who works alongside Zuri (Forest Whitaker) the Florida county decided to dedicate a whole day to her.
The county proclaimed April 10 will henceforth be known as Sope Aluko Day.
According to the video and photos Aluko excitedly shared on her Instagram page she was presented the honour by the county’s mayor and vice chairwoman.
Aluko also proudly represented her Nigerian lineage by dressing in a beautiful gown made with Ankara print.
She wrote,
