We made more profit producing movies in CDs – Chico Ejiro
Veteran Nollywood director, Chico Ejiro, has said movie production in the 1990s was more profitable because they were making movies in compact discs (CDs).
Ejiro who is known for directing many of the movies that dominated the entertainment scene in the 1990s spoke in an interview with The Punch.
He noted that there are more sophisticated equipment that have made movie production better than it was during the 90s.
He said,
“We don’t produce our movies in compact discs anymore because things have evolved. Producing a movie now is more expensive than before.
“We used to make more profit when our movies were produced in CDs compared to now that they are online and at the cinema. Notwithstanding, we have to evolve with technology.”
Asked about his absence in major movie productions recently, the movie director noted that he had been more involved in television series and only did a major movie production recently.
“I was more involved in television series than movie production; that is why it seemed like I slowed down a little,” he said
