WE NEGOTIATED WITH THE BUYER! Couple sells newborn baby for N750,000
A couple, Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Ojei has been arrested by the police in Asaba, Delta State for alleged child trafficking.
According to Daily post, the Police Commissioner in the state, Mr. Muhhamad Mustafa, confimed the arrest. He said,
“The police detectives attached to the State CID acted on a tip-off to arrest the suspects around Okwe community Asaba for alleged child trafficking and selling of a newborn baby girl for N750, 000”.
The suspects, from Abia State, upon interrogation, confessed to the crime, saying “We negotiated with a buyer when we were linked up by one madam Cash and the buyer agreed before we transfered the baby to her.”
The police boss said,
“Investigation revealed that sometime in the month of November 2016, some suspected child traffickers were arrested in Ekwuoma and were detained for interrogations.
“Among these suspects, is one Nwakama Alias Madam Cash, the leader of the group who is also being detained for further investigation.
“All the suspects arrested in connection with the child trafficking would be charged to court on completion of investigation.”
