Fast-rising Afrobeat singer, Oluwaseun Emitomo, popularly known as Emprince, who recently hit the news with his single Scream My Name featuring Oritse Femi and Skales opens up on his source of inspiration.

The Ondo State singer said that music has helped him cope with life in ways he never envisaged.

His sojourn to seek for greener pastures in the United Kingdom in 2007 according to him has been a whirlpool of events which he would readily take on again.

From hustling on the streets of Ibadan to his miraculous quest to make a meaning out of life, Emprince never gave up on carving a niche for himself.

The soft-spoken talent reveals that the loss of his parents nudged him towards discovering his rare talent.

In his words,

“after losing both parents to the icy hands of death, life seemed meaningless and unpromising. Depression set in but I knew there was a brighter light at the end of the tunnel. People deal with such situations in different ways but I never allowed it hold me down thank you to music which helped me cope and gave me an avenue to turn all the grime life threw at me into positive vibes.

He first shot into the limelight through the popular reality TV shows Britain Got Talent and XFactor in 2015.

With the release of his latest single, there is no stopping his dream as he is determined to turn things around for himself as he said, “

When life throws lemons at you, go an extra mile, don’t just use the lemons to make lemonade rather replant the lemons so you can own an orchard and be a source for people who wish to make lemonade”.
