Why we are retuning to PDP- ex Osun SSG

Former Secretary to Osun State Government, who contested 2018 governorship election in the state on the platform of African Democratic Congress, Alhaji Fatai Akinbade, has said his return to Peoples Democratic Party was borne out of the desire to rescue Nigeria from its present rulers.

Akinbade said he decided to return to PDP after securing the consent of ex-Governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola.

He noted that he had been under intense pressure from well-meaning individuals and party men, for him and the former governor Oyinlola, to return to PDP.

A statement signed by Akinbade obtained our correspondent on Tuesday said while he was addressing his supporters from both the Labour Party and the ADC across the 30 local government areas in his Osogbo residence, declared that he would formally rejoin the PDP today.

Akinbade said “if we all come back together under the same umbrella as we used to, it will be much easier for us to achieve the better political feat.

“I would have rejoined the PDP after our governorship election in Osun due to pressure from all quarters, but I had to wait for the final go-ahead instructions of my boss, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola.

“But since he now said it’s time for us to move, no further waiting. So after wide consultations, we feel the time to move, can not be better than now. However, as a thorough party man, it behoves me to further brief you, my good people, as we prepare to formally rejoin the PDP on Wednesday.”
