Man stabbed to death

A man identified as Chimezie Dike, was allegedly stabbed to death by one Henry Ekeozor for pasting campaign posters on the wall of his family house.

The deceased reportedly got into a heated argument with Ekeozor and his mother, an All Progressive Congress, women leader in Rivers State.

According to multiple reports, the posters bore the image of one Collins Owondah, an APC candidate, who is contesting the PHALGA Constituency II in the House of Representatives.

An eyewitness told The Guardian that there was an altercation between the suspects and victim, while he was pasting the poster.

The source said during their argument, a fight ensued and Henry stabbed Dike with a dagger. Unfortunately the deceased bled to death before he was rushed to the hospital.

According to reports, the deceased was not a member of APC but was contracted to paste the campaign posters of Collyns Owondah, a House of Representatives candidate of the party in the area.

An eyewitness also claimed that the suspect’s mother,  Ifeoma Ekeozor, and Collyns Owondah, whose photos were on the campaign posters belong to APC but loyal to different factions of the party.

Ekeozor reportedly broke a bottle during the argument.

The woman (Ifeoma Ekeozor) even broke a bottle during the argument. Everybody parked out of the house because a group of youths, who were not happy about the killing of the boy, went ahead to ransack people’s houses.

“The young man pasting the poster, the woman and her son are all APC supporters, but they belong to different factions.

“He (Chimezie) was rushed to the hospital that night, while the mother of the attacker was arrested the same day by policemen from the Azikiwe Police Station,” the source said.

Confirming the incident, Police Public Relations Officer, Nnamdi Omoni said that the police would investigate and bring the perpetrators to book.
