A yet-to-be-identified woman has been arrested for allegedly pouring hot water on a 300-level Statistics student of the University of Abuja over his love affairs with her daughter.

It was gathered that the suspect was never in support of the relationship and she never hid her opposition to the relationship from the two love birds.

The incident happened at Giri area of Abuja.

According to eyewitnesses, the victim suddenly got a call from the woman telling him to come over to their house for a peace talk.

The excited young man, who may have thought his prayers for favour in the sight of his would-be mother-in-law has been granted, rushed down to the house to respond to the woman’s call for a truce. On getting there, he was allegedly greeted with a pot of hot water and the woman subsequently raised a false alarm, calling him a thief.

Meanwhile, the victim has been rushed to the hospital, while his girlfriend’s mom is presently cooling her heels at the police station.

A video of her arrest was shared on social media. She was seen being surrounded by a large crowd of onlookers as security operatives whisked her away.
