Xenophobia: Rapper AKA dares Burna Boy as he is set to headline concert in South Africa
A month after promising not to ever step his foot in South Africa, Nigerian afrofusion singer, Burna Boy, has been announced as one of the artistes to headline the Africans Unite concert in the country.
The concert was announced this week and will include performances from Jidenna, Kwesta and many other local artistes.
Following the announcement, South African rapper AKA has dared Burna Boy to make good his threat of attacking him whenever their paths cross.
In the heat of the xenophobic attacks in South Africa in September, Burna Boy took to his Twitter handle to express his anger and promised not to ever set foot back in the country.
In a series of tweets the singer said Africans needed to stick together but also threatened AKA to be with enough security whenever they meet.
AKA came under attacks from Nigerians on social media over his tweets about Nigerians and xenophobic attacks which did not sit well among Nigerians.
In his warning to AKA, Burna Boy tweeted;
“And @akaworldwide I knew you were retarded but I didn’t know it had gotten this bad. Next time I see you you better have a big security bro, On Gambos Grave ur gonna need it.”
When reports emerged on the internet on Wednesday that Burna Boy would be headlining a concert in South Africa, AKA was quick to take to his verified Twitter handle, quoted the news report and announce that he would also be attending the concert as he expects Burna Boy to attack him as promised.

He tweeted:
I would love to attend this show and watch this man put his hands on me in my own country. https://t.co/SyrK5fS1VE

When a Twitter user responded to his tweet and insinuated that he would soon delete his post about Burna Boy, AKA replied:
“I don’t delete tweets like @burnaboy … We were told it’s on sight, and that it was “On Gambo” … Woza. We want to see it with our own eyes.”
