Over the years there has been outrage over the poor reward for academic excellence in Nigerian tertiary institutions.
The social media and conventional media had been awash with reports of ridiculous reward outstanding students of Nigeria public schools get after years of hardwork and dedication.
Many outstanding students go home with ridiculous prizes which is believed to discourage those coming behind from putting in so much effort as there is nothing worth competing for.
Sometimes those who are announced as awardee never get to see the prizes as it only appears on paper.
